Distance Learning

The Parma City Schools ABLE Program in cooperation with the Canton City Schools ABLE program offers a Distance Learning component for those students who cannot attend our classes or would like to supplement their classroom experience.  This convenience of learning at home or the library is available to those students who qualify.

During the registration process, placement/achievement scores will be evaluated and those that qualify will be given the opportunity to enroll in the distance learning component of the program.

The GED Distance Learning component requires that qualified students be registered at the Valley Forge computer lab during class hours on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.  The student will be registered with the My Skills Tutor website and will receive a password that allows his/her access to the program's self directed activities.  The site offers a detailed analysis of the student's weaknesses and tracks the student's progress through a series of reports.

The ESOL Distance Learning component requires that qualified students be registered at the Valley Forge computer lab during class hours on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.  The student will be registered with the Rosetta Stone website and will receive a password that allows his/her access to the program's self directed activities.  The site offers a detailed analysis of the student's weaknesses and tracks the student's progress through a series of reports.

Students interested in either of these programs should call the Parma ABLE office at 440-887-4877 for more information and registration dates. Registration dates are also available on this website.
