A link to the Cuyahoga County Public Library system designed to provide our community open access to resources that inform, entertain, and enrich.  A Cuyahoga County Public Library Greater Access  card is necessary to access many of the interesting areas in this site.  This site also contains access to the Official GED Practice Test offered on line.

This is a 24/7 virtual reference service partnered by the Cleveland Public, Cuyahoga County Public, and NOLA Regional library systems.  Online tutors will be available  from 2 p.m. to midnight seven days a week to assist with questions.

 

The National Institute for Literacy has developed activities to strengthen literacy across the lifespan.  It serves as a national resource for adult education and literacy programs.  A variety of educational links ,which should be explored, appear at the bottom of the home page.

The PBS LiteracyLink is a site designed to help adults build the basic skills needed for lifelong learning.  It includes online lessons for Pre-GED and GED.

United Way Service's 211/First Call For Help is a free and confidential information service ready to direct you to the health and human services you need.  The following services are included: senior citizens, counseling and mental health, substance abuse and support groups, emergency food and home-delivered meals, shelter, and services for people with disabilities.

This is part of the Cuyahoga County One Stop Center designed to establish education and training systems that prepare adult, dislocated workers and youth for worthwhile and sustainable employment.  It especially recognizes the workforce needs of area employers and economically disadvantaged individuals.

The mission of Dress for Success is to advance low-income women's economic and social development and to encourage self-sufficiency through career development employment retention. They respond to the needs of our communities by providing programs that help economically disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their new positions and succeed in the mainstream workplace.

Helping People In Need Make A House Into A Home

The primary mission of the Cleveland Furniture Bank is to provide hope to individuals and families who are trying to restart their lives by helping them turn a house into a home and a more stable place to live by providing such basic furnishings as a bed to sleep in, a table to eat at and a couch or chair to sit on.

The Cleveland Furniture Bank works in collaboration with more than 195 secular, faith based and social service agencies in Northeast Ohio. These agencies serve a broad range of needs and refer over 400 families each month to the bank.
